The Overarching Path

All the many little things we do day-to-day are part of the overarching path of our lives.

They add up to the big achievements which reflect the overall quality of our life.

When we do a little kindness, it paves the way for more little kindnesses.

Lots and lots of little kindnesses become a strong and impermeable foundation.

We would no more withhold kindness than we would forget to breathe.

Each step we take which is built on some uplifting quality makes it possible for those around us to live a little better.

As we share our uplifting qualities with each other and do what we can to ease each others’ burdens, we are building a foundation for the ages.

Whether or not this builds a large bank account, we are increasing our wealth in ways which are eternal.

Is this practical?

Why would anyone want to engage in building qualities instead of dollars?

Once we have felt the uplifting influence of spiritual qualities in our own life, we would never want to deny anyone anything which could help lift up their lives.

Our life path becomes reoriented to what is good for all.

Developing the wealth of uplifting qualities has the effect of easing our own burdens and it leaks out all around us.

It is an easy practice once we realize how to do it.

We release criticism, of ourself and of others.

We see everyone as having the right to happiness, well-being, skilled training and all the abilities which allow us to contribute to uplifting society and civilisation.

We release the burden on the poor, which enables them to raise themselves through access to normal channels.

We see an increase in every way.

Releasing greed and becoming selfless gives a satisfaction that “more and more” will never provide.

The overarching path requires goodness.

If not for all, then who are these people all over the planet?

Are they not part of the overarching path, too?

What is your part in increasing the overall wealth and happiness of all?

Do your first little kindness and let it guide the rest of your life.

More Bits of Kindness

My best take on advancing the world is to do more and more bits of kindness wherever possible.

Bits of kindness are always welcome.

It is easy to lift someone up by refraining from criticism and saying something sincerely uplifting instead.

We can be kind to ourselves in little bits by not letting chores accumulate.

Then we have time to enrich our time in ways which please us.

I have begun substituting “I love it” instead of letting silent criticism occur.

Everyone is on a unique path learning the lessons which best apply to their situation.

People who have been hit hardest do not need anything but upliftment.

I can help through donations, encouragement, and recognition of personhood.

Gentleness is a good approach.

Tender consideration of a person’s situation is required.

To which missing elements can I contribute relief?

Personal action, community action, all the way up to public policy is in order.

Microcredit has lifted up million of people out of poverty through the compassionate view that everyone is an entrepreneur.

On an individual level, I have left sandwiches next to passed out drunks.

I have given home-canned food which I carry in my car to homeless individuals who approached me.

I have helped people figure out a better way of doing something, and I have contributed physical labor.

I now allow a lot more space for compassion and patience in may life as a result of this practice.

It allows me to do something in many little ways.

When I am engaged from this viewpoint, I have very little room for criticism.

Forging Your Identity

The process of forging involves a lot of stresses on the material being forged.

The material must be strengthened through heating, cooling, liquifying, molding, folding,  hammering, shaping, testing and refining.

The elements of our character are treated in corresponding manner as our identity is forged.

We may begin with good intentions, but if we do not have the strength to carry them out, they will not be fulfilled.

We progress from desiring a job to fulfilling our unique purpose.

Our unique purpose appears as we dedicate ourselves to doing excellent work where we are.

Our excellent work hones our innovations and leads our desire to implement them into new places.

As our innovations enrich our life, and we devote ourselves to their development within us, they begin to attract what is necessary to manifest them.

As we strive to make this happen, we run into our own limitations.

This is where the forging begins.

Forging to fulfil a purpose does not facilitate quick success.

Each stage in the forging process must be completed in order to create the invincible identity.

Since each identity is unique, its process is uncharted.

There are certain characteristics in this process, akin to the hero’s journey.

As we meet our challenges, they turn into the gifts of stepping stones.

We learn to appreciate the stepping stones, and as we explore them, we see they carry us forward in unexpected and unanticipated ways.

Our new character and identity begin to emerge as we take careful inventory of our stepping stones and begin to discover where they are leading us.

Our beginning excellent work makes us willing to do what is required.

Our perception of innovation comes from listening within.

This results in some outward manifestation, beyond our doing.

With our focus on excellence, innovation and our ability to recognise manifestation, we are introduced to a larger view.

We are able to meet the new demands with the strength of excellence.

We are able to receive continual new ideas.

We are able to meet new challenges patiently and persistently and to receive their gifts.

This is how our identity is forged.

Layers of Grace

In our course forward, we are given opportunities for improvement.

As we take our steps, there are often requirements we simply cannot meet.

We do not have the resources, the experience, the know-how.

Sometimes, in desperation, we simply reach out and say “Show me!”

That is when Grace moves in.

The task is accomplished in ways which occur without our knowledge.

Moving forward, we are also moving upward in our ways of dealing with things.

We are in uncharted territory.

Everyone who has come before has had to find a different way, one which suits their talents.

We are required to reach out in ways which go beyond our knowledge and experience.

So as we reach inward and outward for our resources, we are led once again to Grace.

Many layers of Grace will occur as we expand our outreach.

Our desire to improve, to be found fit, to serve our higher nature, will lead us beyond what we know.

It will require Grace each time we are required to move higher.

It will require going beyond what we know.

The spiritual requirements are developed differently than what we have experienced.

We are led to them through patience, kindness, compassion, unselfishness.

These qualities prepare us for higher service.

There is no incremental step-ladder for experience or training in spiritual development.

We work through our higher nature and Grace intervenes and lifts us up.

Then we do the higher work and receive another layer of Grace.

This spiritual process continues throughout our lives and is a calling.

Once we are called, Grace accomplishes the work as, and through, us.

Straying and Returning

Sometimes we stray, not because we are insincere, but because we have become distracted.

Our schedule may have become interrupted, other priorities may have intervened.

When we get back to our path, it is waiting for us.

More insight may lie within it, for what we bring back with us may have caused some other type of  growing.

The path which runs true for us is in accord with our spiritual individuality and, really, nothing can pull us off such a path.

It may that we do not complete it in this life cycle, and those here with us are not able to benefit from it.

The permanence and indestructibility of our spiritual nature ensures that the work will be done.

It is best if we can do it here and now when it comes to us.

We are being prepared to carry out our unique and valuable work.

Everything we do, must take us in that direction.

Once we are aware of our purpose and our work, we can remain vigilant as we take our steps, big, little, and especially the tiny ones.

The tiny steps mean that we are staying very close to the ground and laying our foundation very securely.

When we stray or get distracted, we will not have slipped back too far with a tiny step.

Securing enough of a foundation may enable us to take bigger steps or even to fly later on.

Our tiny steps guard us and keep us secure and steady.

Occasionally, we are distracted for a long time from our purpose and our desire to carry it out.

Returning and picking up the work is the best thing to do.

There is no judgement, no frustration, no anger, no impatience.

Pick up the work and take the next tiny step.

These are steps which cannot be undone.

They are being done in honour and obedience and in celebration of our unique spiritual nature.

That which never changes, but waits for us to recognise it and join it, is always welcoming and happy for our return.

Facing the Fears

I spend a significant amount of time dealing with my fears.

Sometimes they feel overwhelming and go on for a long time.

I use my powerful affirmation tools repetitively until they yield.

I do this without knowing when I will be free.

But it always happens, even if it takes many times throughout the night.

The negative imprinting from early childhood goes so deep it is taking a lot of attention and self-compassion to deal with it.

When I do find my freedom, it is by noticing that I am suddenly writing or involved in some kind of creative work.

I realise my release came through at some point and I moved right into my day.

I am so grateful every time.

From early childhood, I developed the habit of focusing on a prayer from Sunday School while I was being abused.

I had many healings, the most notable of which is that I was able to keep functioning in school.

After my hidden past came into view at age fifty, I had to learn to deal with the accumulation of fears which had never been addressed.

I am grateful for the many writers, workshop leaders, and therapists for the inspiration and tools which they shared.

Their work has enabled me to keep going.

I am grateful for the breakthroughs which enable me to make significant progress on my projects and goals.

Little by little I am getting there.

I am taking the next steps and meeting the requirements and learning the new skills.

I am grateful for every step of healing.

I say this also to encourage the many people who are dealing with similar obstacles.

We each have gifts to share.

It is worth dealing with all the challenges in order to share our gifts.

We are all worthy, despite what we were told when we were so very young.

We can all lend our newly developing strength to those who need it to help them face their fears and evolve beyond them.

A Serious Start

Today, I followed up on a start to a project that is important to me.

Once I got going, I was able to complete not only the next part, but two more expansions.

All the materials I have put together over the years were available to me to complete my work.

Each time I needed to add something, there was a way to create it.

I was led to draw material together across several years of production.

It all fit together in a smooth flow.

What I am designing will go through another metamorphosis to make it easily accessible to others.

The new steps I am learning and taking are being directed specifically and efficiently.

Being able to share through what I have learned is part of the program.

I can feel the sense of guidance and Presence as I work.

There is certainly a much higher motive propelling this work forward.

I am learning to recognise my work as part of a much greater work.

It is essential that I do my work well and on time.

All the challenges which I have gone through have built up the strength and persistence for me to complete this work.

It is clear that this is the time.

I am propelled forward as the momentum builds.

All my work up to this point is for this purpose.

I am emboldened and strengthened to take on the next steps.

My course is clear.

I am taking the required steps.

I am learning as I go.

The next step is revealed as I take the current one.

I will be fascinated to see how my work fits into the work that is being done at this time all over the world.
