Kindness is a year-round expression.
We become more conscious of it around the holidays, because we see such a contrast between our own well-being and that of others.
All during the year, we can control our anger and resentment and be more patient.
We can do small favors for people.
We can open doors for them.
We can be generous in our judgement and withhold it, even to ourselves.
We can be more empathetic to conditions; there are many circumstances which contribute to or take away from a person’s well-being.
We can choose to donate to a food bank.
We can volunteer our time in a way which fits our sympathies and skills.
We can become more aware of social justice.
We can align ourselves with the goals of seeing everyone as an individual.
We can see that all cultures have value.
We can support politics which value people.
We can support politics which value the earth.
We can take the many small steps which enable us to take care of others the way we take care of ourselves.
