Living and Sharing Our Country's Ideals

I find I am having to take action in a new way, instead of feeling more and more depressed over the embarrassing mismanagement of our government.

Even though our country’s ideals are being misrepresented so egregiously, we can still live them to the best of our ability.

We can show what we are made of individually and collectively, and this is what will draw Americans together in a new way.

We can remember and practice the ideals we were raised on in the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of the United States of America.

We can practice them more consciously in our local communities.

Even in communities which appear to embrace limiting views, we all have enough in common to want things to improve in some way.

The democratic ideals of getting together and voicing opinions and voting are not dead.

Local communities can draw together to create a better environment for local citizens.

We can make sure our citizens have access to services they need on a local basis.

There are many informal ways of contributing to this betterment.

It is an opportunity to get to know one another better and to practice the ingenuity and inventiveness and unselfishness and generosity that our country has been known for.

The bad example of greed and self-centeredness at the top does not have to trickle down.

We can continue to live our ideals and to share them as much as possible.
