Breaking Free of the Cultivated Tyrant Within

Our habits are imprinted on us when we are very young by the people who surround us.

We are able to break free of the negative imprinting once we become aware of it.

Until we are aware, our responses will mirror our first experiences and we will find that we are cultivating responses we did not choose for ourselves.

Once we are aware, we can begin the work to equip ourselves to create new habits.

Our practice begins with awareness and continues as we explore new techniques and strategies until we become skillful with them.

By interrupting the cycle of distressing emotional response, we begin the redirection of our mind and emotions.

By regulating our breathing and moving ourselves into powerful engaging practices, we develop new habitual responses which give us freedom and happiness.

We create room for freedom and happiness by our consistent practice of a new response.

We move ourselves into a different kind of action when we are happy.

We attract more happiness and freedom into our lives.

We give ourselves the space to discover what we love to do, and the ability to commit to doing it.

We attract the resources which will make us happy.

We learn how to make others happy by our new, uplifting attitude.

We feel more inspiration and peace within ourselves.

We create more security and serenity in our lives.

We cultivate more responsible habits.

We can feel the new foundation we are building for ourselves.

We learn that tiny steps are significant.

We learn to take tiny steps consistently.

We discover that our new foundation is built out of entirely different materials than the unreliable ones we were given.

Our new foundation is built out of our belief and confidence in ourselves.

It is built out of our demonstrated ability to interrupt the cycle of distressing emotions and to replace it with uplifting ones.

We begin to see ourselves in a completely new light.

We realize that we are attracting friends and colleagues who support us in our new view of ourselves.

We make healthy connections which involve us in creating an uplifting life for ourselves.

We are no longer governed by unconcious negative responses, but instead we have a life of cultivated inspiration.
